The 1776 Unites initiative, a program of The Woodson Center, is an assembly of Scholars, Educators and Activists who uphold our country’s authentic founding virtues and values, challenging those who assert that America is forever defined by its past failures — namely, slavery.
We seek to offer alternative perspectives that celebrate the progress America has made on delivering on its promise of equality and opportunity, and highlight the resilience of its people in rising from the most abject circumstances. Our focus is on solving problems and looking towards the future. We do this in the spirit of 1776, the date of America’s true founding.
If you care about American unity and opportunity, fulfilling the dream of Martin Luther King Jr., and helping us overcome grievance-based politics that hold people back, and endanger our communities, please consider supporting 1776 Unites with a financial contribution.
