Support the efforts of the Italian-American Community Organizations to repair the Christopher Columbus Statue located in front of City Hall in Waterbury.
Damaged from a criminal act of vandalism on July 4th, an architectural restoration artist has been commissioned to facilitate the restoration. Estimated costs are just under $10,000 with the project scheduled to be completed by the end of September.
The statue was gifted to the City of Waterbury in 1984 through the generosity of the Italian-American Community. As a further expression of the love we have for our community, we have pledged to repair the statue at no cost to the City. Please assist us in our effort so that our message of mutual respect can be achieved.
The fundraising project is spearheaded by Waterbury UNICO, a registered 501(c)3 entity. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
