Candlelight Vigil to Honor the Life and Faith of Charlie Kirk

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A candlelight vigil will be held on Wednesday, September 17 at 7:30 PM to honor the life, faith, and enduring impact of Charlie Kirk. Friends, family, and community members are invited to come together for a peaceful evening of prayer, remembrance, and reflection.

The vigil will include heartfelt reflections from those who knew Charlie personally and those whose lives were touched by his work, along with a moment of silence, scripture readings, and community-led prayers honoring his steadfast devotion to God, country, and freedom. Candles will be provided for attendees, though guests are welcome to bring their own.

“Charlie inspired countless Americans to live boldly in their faith and never back down from speaking the truth,” organizer Jaime Daniell shared. “This vigil is an opportunity for our community to come together, find comfort, and honor the values he championed.”

Matthews Commissioner Dr. Leon Threatt will lead a closing prayer and reflection, sending the community forth united in faith and gratitude.
