A Better Direction

Rhode Island can be affordable again. It can be a place where families stay, businesses grow, seniors can afford to remain here, and communities can maintain the character that makes them worth living in. That will not happen without balance in the State House and leaders willing to challenge the status quo.

I am running because I believe District 38 deserves strong, common sense representation that puts people first, respects local communities, and makes government work for the people who pay for it.

What I Will Work To Accomplish

Make Rhode Island More Affordable

I will fight to make Rhode Island more affordable for working families, seniors, and small businesses. Rhode Islanders should not have to leave the state because taxes, housing, utilities, and everyday costs have become too high.

That means taking a hard look at every tax and every dollar the state spends. Government should live within its means before asking taxpayers for more.

Lower Energy Costs

Rhode Islanders pay some of the highest electricity costs in the country, and families cannot simply budget their way around that.

I will push for policies that lower the cost of electricity and make energy more reliable without forcing families and businesses to bear the cost of unrealistic mandates.

We can protect our environment and natural resources while recognizing that affordability matters too. Environmental policy should be practical, responsible, and based on what actually works.

Protect Retirement Income

Rhode Islanders who worked, saved, and planned for retirement should not be punished for choosing to remain in the state.

I will support ending the taxation of retirement income. We should be encouraging retirees to stay in Rhode Island, spend their money in our local communities, and continue contributing to the state rather than giving them another reason to leave.

Support Responsible Growth and Local Control

I will fight for housing policies that support safe neighborhoods where families can raise children, while opposing one size fits all development mandates that ignore the needs of individual communities.

Westerly, Charlestown, and South Kingstown are different communities with different needs. Local officials and residents should have a meaningful voice in how their towns grow.

We need thoughtful development that matches our roads, schools, water, sewer, and public safety infrastructure. Growth should strengthen our communities, not overwhelm them.

Make It Easier to Do Business in Rhode Island

I will work to create a business climate where small businesses can survive, employers can grow, and people can find good paying jobs close to home.

Rhode Island should not make it unnecessarily difficult or expensive to open a business, hire employees, or invest in our communities.

We need to reduce unnecessary regulations, control taxes and fees, and stop treating businesses as an unlimited source of revenue.

Bring Fiscal Responsibility Back to the State House

The state budget is funded by the people of Rhode Island. Every dollar spent by government ultimately comes from a taxpayer.

I will demand greater accountability for how that money is spent.

Before raising taxes or creating another government program, we should be asking whether the existing programs are working, whether the money is being spent efficiently, and whether government is doing what it is supposed to do.

Rhode Island does not have a revenue problem that can be solved by continually asking taxpayers for more. We have a responsibility to make the most of the money we already collect.

Give Parents a Stronger Voice in Education

I will support educational opportunity for every child while making sure parents have a meaningful voice in their children's education.

Parents should not have to fight their own school system to understand what their children are being taught or to have a say in important decisions affecting their children.

Our goal should be a quality education in a safe environment, with accountability for results and respect for parents.

Protect Our Communities and Quality of Life

I will work to protect the character of the communities that make District 38 a great place to live.

That means protecting our water, open space, neighborhoods, and natural resources while balancing those priorities with the economic realities facing families and businesses.

Good government requires balance. We can protect the environment, support responsible development, create jobs, and keep Rhode Island affordable without treating those goals as mutually exclusive.

Demand Accountability From Government

Government should be held to the same standard we expect from everyone else: transparency, accountability, and responsibility.

I will support stronger oversight of state government and oppose efforts to give elected officials special treatment or shield government from legitimate accountability.

The people deserve to know how their government operates and how their money is being spent. No elected official, including legislators, should be above oversight.

My Commitment to District 38

I am not running to tell people what they should want.

I am running to listen, represent District 38, and bring some common sense to the State House.

Families deserve to keep more of what they earn. Seniors deserve to keep more of what they worked for. Businesses deserve the opportunity to grow. Parents deserve a voice in their children's education. Communities deserve a say in their own future. And taxpayers deserve accountability for every dollar government spends.

That is the better direction I believe Rhode Island needs.
