Yen Huynh Rabe cares about her community because she was cared for as a refugee from the Vietnam war. She and her husband, Haja, have lived in Clear Brook City since 2004. Her adult daughter attended and graduated from Pasadena ISD schools.

Yen earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Carnegie Mellon University. She obtained her Masters in French from Middlebury College. 

Yen became a teacher because she enjoys working with young people. She has been teaching for 25 years now. On the side, she applies her business acumen as a commercial real estate developer. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, biking and camping.

Yen serves as an HOA Board Member and Precinct Chair of Riverstone Ranch. She is the Houston Area Chapter Leader of Start School Later, a national organization that brings awareness to child sleep deprivation when school starts at 7-7:30 a.m.

Every vote counts!

Yen decided to run in the last CBC MUD election in May 2024, when she found out that it would be the first election in 8 years where less than 400 people voted. In that election, voter turnout increased but she lost by 2 votes: 311 to 313.

Look for the signs!

Citizens of CBC have a Houston address but they don't really live in Houston. That is why they can not vote in the Houston elections and they do not have a curbside recycling program. Many who turned out to vote did not know about the CBC MUD election before. For some, it was the first time they had voted in the MUD election even though they have lived in CBC for 30-40 years.

CBC has a population of 18,000 people. There are 13, 000 voters in the district. It comprises of 14 subdivisions in 9 voting precincts: Amanda Glen, Ashley Pointe, Blackhawk, Clear Brook Landing, Clear Brook Meadows, College Place, Highland Meadow, Riverstone Ranch, Sageglen, Meadows of Clear Creek, Estates of Green Tee, Green Tee Terrace, Stillwater Cove and Woodmeadow II.
