How did we get here?

More than 1,300 dedicated Granbury citizens signed each of the five recall petitions to hold our elected officials accountable. After a long battle, City Secretary Carla Walker officially completed her review and formally certified that our petitions are valid under the City Charter.

Instead of allowing the recall election to move forward in May 2027, Mayor Jim Jarratt, Bruce Wadley, and Skip Overdier have launched a stunning new counter-offensive. They have hired a high-priced outside attorney and filed a lawsuit (Case No. C2026539) in the 355th District Court, suing the City of Granbury in an attempt to get a judge to completely invalidate your signatures and cancel the election.

They are using a circular, uncontested lawsuit to quietly kill the recall behind closed doors before the community can even fight back.
