I’m running to represent Palm Beach and Broward Counties in the Florida Senate in order to increase funding for public schools and teachers, enact stronger measures to prevent gun violence, protect women’s rights, expand voting rights and promote economic development in rural communities including the Glades. When I was first elected to the State House, I promised to fight tooth-and-nail for our Democratic values and to provide first-rate constituent services to the people of our community. Now, I’ll bring that same level of commitment to the Florida Senate. For the past two months, I have been helping constituents navigate our state’s crippled unemployment system. Holding those accountable for the system’s failures in order to make sure people in need are able to obtain the benefits to which they are entitled will be among my first actions in the State Senate.
