If passed, his bills in the Texas Legislature would have reported gun buyers to the sheriff, made it a felony to transfer an AR-15 to a 20-year-old, and let the state deny carry licenses at its discretion.

He even hired a former "Cocks Not Glocks" protest leader to help write them.
