&

Matt is co-founder of the nonpartisan Save Austin Now PAC, the largest grassroots organization in Austin. This year, Save Austin Now gathered 21,000+ signatures from Austinites through a petition drive to put a charter amendment on the ballot requiring regular, outside, performance audits of the entire City of Austin budget for the first time ever.

This effort is modeled after Houston’s outside audit requirement, which cost $500,000 and produced more than $100 million in suggested annual efficiencies by reducing waste, fraud, duplication, and inefficient city spending. Our local taxes are among the highest in Texas and our city budget is 30-40% larger per capita than Dallas and Houston.

We'll have light refreshments and an informal conversation about the campaign and what you can do to support this cause over the next few weeks!

RSVP REQUIRED: We need you to RSVP so we can adequately prepare for the event. After you register, you will have your ticket(s) and the address emailed to you.

To get required, recurring financial transparency of our tax dollars, we must win in November. To do that, we need your help. Would you please consider making a generous contribution to Save Austin Now PAC so we can keep effectively fighting the insanity at the local level.

Funds raised go toward:

> Running the campaign to pass this Charter Amendment in November by educating voters about our effort through:

  • TV/Radio

  • Digital ads

  • Texting voters

  • Sending mailers

  • Billboards

  • Other direct communication and voter outreach

We all know there's fraud and waste at City Hall in Austin as detailed out in some recent news, but an outside audit charter amendment will finally ensure transparency and accountability!

RSVP required. Donations encouraged!
Event address sent via email after RSVPing.
