The Dean Younker Memorial Building Fund.
On February 4, 2021 we all lost a very dear friend and volunteer. Dean was helping to remove storm-damaged tree branches on the property adjoining New Beginnings Pregnancy and Parenting Center. He wanted to protect anyone who parked or walked in that location, especially our clients and their children. While doing this, a large branch unexpectedly dislodged from the tree striking Dean. He died doing what he loved to do, helping others. Everyone who knew Dean is heartbroken about his tragic passing. He was a humble servant of our Lord Jesus Christ who reflected His Love to everyone he met.
Prior to Dean’s accident, New Beginnings was blessed to negotiate a very favorable agreement with Payson Banner Medical Center to buy our current building, so we could have a permanent home in which to offer our services. Payson Banner has always been extremely kind and generous to New Beginnings. Thus, we began our fund-raising efforts.
With Dean’s sudden death, the Board decided that all monies received for the building purchase would be in Dean’s name. Dean had managed the Center’s renovations when Banner leased the building to us, and he continued volunteering to do maintenance and repairs. He did the same for our thrift shop The New Beginnings Nook. God used Dean all of his life to help people and make their burdens lighter by using his strong hands, his strong back, and his uncommon, common sense. God is using him in death to achieve Dean's dream...that all babies shall live and that all children are raised in loving homes.
