Meet Senator Deb Fischer:

Senator Fischer (R-NE) is one of Maggie's List's Congressional Chairwomen and is a trailblazer for women in Congress, the first Nebraska woman elected to a full term when she defied expectations and first won in 2012.

Fischer serves as deputy whip under Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, and also serves on six important Senate committees: Armed Services, Appropriations, Commerce, Agriculture, Rules, and Ethics.

Fischer believes the first priority of the federal government is a robust national defense, and we are thankful for the ways she herself stands in the gap for our men and women in uniform, for conservative women and for all Americans.
