The Killingly Historical & Genealogical Society, Inc. was founded in 1972 for the purpose of promoting knowledge, interest, and research in Killingly and Windham County.
The Society administers the former Bugbee Memorial Library, now known as the Killingly Historical Center, Library and Museum, which includes a museum of Killingly history, a research library which includes biographical, genealogical, and historical data pertaining to Killingly, Windham County, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and some other states.
The Society sponsors programs, conducts historical tours, lectures, and sponsors and designs exhibitions. The Society is active in furthering art, preserving the natural resources of Killingly and creating a sense of pride in the Killingly community.
As a member of the Killingly Historical & Genealogical Society, Inc. you will receive a card, which gives you use of the research center material and access to town halls, newsletters, and access to the historical society programs and lectures.
