My journey began with a helicopter crash. The impact left me with a traumatic brain injury and multiple serious injuries that shattered my sense of normalcy. I was struggling physically, mentally, and emotionally, unsure of how to move forward.
During that darkest period, I was introduced to Paul and Sharon. They welcomed me in and guided me toward hyperbaric air therapy. After only a few sessions, the fog that had been clouding my mind began to lift, and the constant pain started to ease. For the first time since the accident, I felt clarity returning.
Months later, another challenge surfaced. I learned that years of poor lifestyle choices had caused severe damage to my liver and kidneys. Facing the possibility of surgery, I returned to Paul and Sharon for guidance once again. They reassured me and helped me begin another round of hyperbaric therapy.
The results were beyond what I had imagined. My lab work improved so dramatically that surgery was no longer necessary. That moment marked a true turning point in my life.
Hyperbarics for Heroes did not just help me recover. They took me in when I was broken and unsure, without conditions or hesitation. What began as treatment became a journey of resilience, accountability, and self discovery.
Because I was given that chance, I now feel a responsibility to help extend it to others. I am asking those who understand the weight of injury, trauma, and recovery to help support veterans and first responders who need access to this therapy but cannot afford it.
Each day now is a step forward toward a healthier and more grounded future. Together, we can make sure the next person gets the same opportunity to heal that I did.
