Contributions to Friends of Heather Mitchell are not tax deductible. Contributors who have contributed an aggregate amount of more than $100 to a committee during an election cycle (begins January 1 after the date of the election) must be “itemized” on the committee’s campaign finance report. This means that the committee must include the required occupation or business information for the contributor on the campaign finance report.
Under Virginia State law, this committee can accept contributions from any individual, corporation, union, association or partnership in any amount with no limit. Anonymous contributions are not allowed. Federal law prohibits any political organization to accept contributions from a foreign national or foreign corporation. An exception to the law is granted for individuals who have a valid green card.
