Compassionate Lexington started from a Leadership Lexington project in 2017. On Oct. 12, 2017, the LFUCG Council voted unanimously to designate Lexington as a Compassionate City, joining us with other cities across the globe who are part of the Charter for Compassion movement. Click here to read the full resolution. Since then, we have organized fundraising for our community, pop up volunteer opportunities, and a week of service (Lex Give Back week) - and are now our own 501c3 nonprofit to continue this work. You can find out more about us at our website: http://lexgiveback.org
Our current project focus is the Care Fund. The Care Fund is a mutual aid initiative in partnership with Neighbors Immigration Clinic and community members to respond to the urgent needs of immigrant families across Central Kentucky. Donations help meet immediate needs such as:
Food assistance
Housing assistance
Utility payments
Transportation
Other urgent family needs
Every contribution is an act of solidarity, helping families remain safe, stable, and connected.
Donations to Compassionate Lexington and the Care Fund are tax-deductible. Compassionate Lexington is a 501c3 with EIN #84-3916426
