Citizens Defending Freedom is standing with Christopher Smith, a local evangelist arrested while peacefully ministering in a public space in Macon, Georgia. Initially charged with disorderly conduct, his charges were escalated to obstruction of an officer during his court appearance. Mr. Smith, who was sharing a message of faith using a portable sound system across the street from the annual Macon Pride event, firmly believes his First Amendment rights to free speech and religious expression were violated.

“This is about more than just me,” said Smith. “What happened feels like an infringement on my rights to speak freely and share my faith.”
