Boston Policy Institute's mission is to improve the public conversation with original research, expert analysis, and important resources about the most important issues facing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City of Boston.

Since launching in 2023, BPI's work been improving the public conversation:

Quantifying the impact of falling office values on property-tax dependent local budgets;
Publishing the only comprehensive review of the state's 5-year long intervention in Boston Public Schools;
Tracking progress on Boston's efforts to reform its planning & development rules & bureaucracy; and
Providing important resources like AI-generated transcripts of Boston City Council meetings & coverage of Boston's budget process.
