No rubber chicken. No PowerPoint. No two-hour program with eleven speakers.
Just a live range on a Saturday morning, a county championship on the line, and a smoker that's been working since before you got there.
HOW IT RUNS
Everybody shoots the same course of fire, at their own pace, from nine until quarter past eleven. Scores go up on the board as they come in, so you'll know exactly who you have to beat and exactly how badly you're losing to your neighbor. At 11:30 the range clears and the top four shoot off head-to-head in front of everybody for the county title. Ties break the old way: one target, one shot, closest to center.
Never competed before? Come anyway. Half this field will be first-timers, and every one of us shot our first round badly.
THEN WE EAT
The range goes cold at noon and the catered lunch fro, Chick-fil-A is served. Every shooter ticket includes a plate. The trophy gets handed out while everybody's still got a sandwich in their hand, and the remarks are short — we promise.
TICKETS
Already a member — $25 for one shooter, $40 for you and your better half.
Not a member yet — $30 for one shooter, $50 for two, and your couples ticket comes with a full family membership in the Berkeley County Republican Party at no extra charge. Five extra dollars buys you the range, the BBQ, and a seat at the table. We've never been accused of driving a hard bargain.
Not shooting — $20 gets you a plate, a seat in the shade, and no obligation to touch a firearm. Kids 12 and under eat free.
SPONSORSHIPS
$250 — Station Sponsor. Your name on a shooting station all morning.
$500 — Bracket Sponsor. Your name or logo on the board everybody shoots off of, plus two shooter entries.
$1,000 — Champion's Sponsor. The trophy presented in your name — you hand it over yourself — plus four entries and your banner at check-in.
OR BRING A BOX
Ammo runs this event, and it's the one line item that never gets cheaper. If you'd rather donate a box than write a check, we'll take it. 9mm and .556 are what we go through fastest. Factory ammo in sealed boxes, dropped at the check-in table.
WHAT TO BRING
Your firearm and ammo. Eye and ear protection — required on the line, no exceptions. A case or holster; everything stays put away until the range officer says otherwise. Closed-toe shoes, a hat, and sunscreen, because it is August in the Lowcountry. And a friend who's been meaning to get involved. All attendees will be required to sign the BCRP range waiver.
WHY IT MATTERS
Every dollar raised on August 22 stays right here in Berkeley County and goes to work turning voters out in 2026. You're not buying a banquet ticket. You're buying door knocks, phone calls, and a county that stays red.
