That information is then stored in a database owned by a private company in Atlanta and shared with thousands of local and federal agencies across America, far beyond Alabama’s borders.


Alabama gun owners already won the fight against a government gun owner registry, but Flock built a back-door registry anyway… and nobody in Montgomery ever voted on it.


That's why I need you to sign your "BAN FLOCK SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS IN ALABAMA!" petition to Alabama legislative leadership, your State Senator, your State Representative, and your local officials right away!

PETITION TO BAN FLOCK SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS IN ALABAMA!


Petition to Alabama Legislative Leadership, my State Senator, my State Representative, and my local governing body


WHEREAS: Alabama law already prohibits the government from keeping any list or registry of privately owned firearms or their owners, under Act 2024-232; and


WHEREAS: Flock Safety cameras photograph every vehicle that passes, around the clock, with no warrant and no suspicion of any crime, cataloging the plate, time, location, direction of travel, and even bumper stickers and decals; and


WHEREAS: A five-year searchable archive of every truck wearing a 2A decal, parking at the gun shop, or driving to the range is a gun owner registry assembled out of car pictures; and


WHEREAS: Roughly 5,000 agencies share into a national Flock pool, meaning an out-of-state officer enforcing an out-of-state gun law can search an Alabamian's movements with a few words in a reason box; and


WHEREAS: Alabama officers in Moody and Springville have ALREADY been caught abusing this system to track private citizens, proving the promised safeguards are worth nothing.


THEREFORE: As a proud Alabamian and Second Amendment supporter, I urge you to pass a full statewide BAN on automated license plate reader networks, preempting every city, county, agency, and utility. Not a study. Not a task force. Not a retention tweak. A ban. And I urge my own city and county to cancel their Flock contracts and take the cameras down NOW.
