Under Texas law, law firms have a $15,000 contribution limit in judicial races. Each contribution from a lawyer or employee (“firm members”) of the firm shall be aggregated towards the $15,000 contribution limit on the firm. The $15,000 contribution limit per election, placed on all contributions from firm members includes contributions by their spouse and children. Additionally, under Texas law, a $2,500 contribution limit is placed on all individuals. A contribution by the spouse or minor of an individual is NOT considered to be a contribution by the individual. Corporate contributions are NOT permitted.
