Contributions to Paul Hudson for Justice are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. Michigan law requires candidate committees to report the name, home address, business address (principal place of business), occupation and employer for each individual whose aggregate contributions exceed $100 in a calendar year. Contributions from corporations, labor unions, federal contractors, and foreign nationals are prohibited.
Michigan election law (MCL 169.252) allows individuals, including lawyers, to contribute up to $7,150 for a Supreme Court candidate. The maximum allowable independent political action committee contribution under state law is $71,500 per candidate. These limitations are applicable to political action committees organized under Michigan law; additional limitations apply to out-of-state political action committees.
